Welcome to our studio’s world of Renaissance handcrafted artisan made pewter!

Welcome to the renaissance side of what we do! Sea Dog Game Studios also owns Valkyrie Pewter, Our founder Brian Carnes’ family has been designing and making original pieces in pewter and sterling silver for over 40 years! Our Renaissance brand handcrafted artisan studio features hundreds, if not thousands of designs from over the decades including the ren faire legendary Lizards Wizards and Rings line with designs by the late Angelo (AE) Roncari, and Sarah (SJ) Christensen. We also have the Lion and Lamb line of pewter from late Don and Rose (RA) Lapeer, who also understudied with Angelo. More recently we have the Valkyrie Pewter line with more original designs by Sarah Christensen and Brian (BE) Carnes. Today, Brian Carnes (Makers mark BEC) is our primary studio design artist with a team of artisans who help with production, and journeyman smiths and jewelers who also contribute custom welds and arrangements to make our pewter shop fresh with creativity.

We currently own retail sales locations at the Ohio Renaissance Festival and Great Lakes Medieval Faire, but also bring the pewter to most of the conventions we attend as well. All our original designs are lovingly cast handcrafted and hand finished at our studio shop in Dublin Ohio USA. At our Ren Fair shops you can generally also find our journeyman pewter smiths who can customize pieces to our customer’s needs and desires.

As much of what we do is very bespoke and many pieces are created as single pieces and not mass produced, It’s best to experience our shop in person, but we are working on the challenge of bringing our ren fair world into the digital world and are glad you stopped by!
